The Diphthongs 

 

Matt (Keyboards, Vocals), "T" (Bass, Vocals), Thomas (Guitars, Vocals) 

 

The Diphthongs lasted approximately 2 1/2 years - but waht a two years! They wrote, recorded and performed about 30 songs during that period. The band consisted of Matt (Expanding Canz), Tommy (aka "T") (Jester, Native Tongue) and Tom (Second Wind, Naked Trucker) - plus rotating cast of drummers (and drum machines). The eigthies were in full and swing, and the groups music reflected all that was happening then. From reggae flavored break-beats to proto-rap and beyond - The Diphthongs enjoyed a highly productive writing career. Starting with some amazing four-track demos that culminating in full studio productions. The group wrote some amazing songs that are still being performed today. The Diphthongs went their seperate ways in late 1986 - but Matt and Tom continue to create music together to this day. So, where's "T"? You out there, Buddy? Phone home!
